Navigating unfamiliar social and healthcare systems can be a daunting task, especially for black women who often face unique challenges and disparities.
While my experience hasn't been perfect, I feel incredibly blessed to have had a supportive team of professionals in my life. From insurance coordinators to my son's Ppec staff, these individuals have made a significant difference in our journey. I am filled with gratitude for the exceptional care and support they have provided. It is my hope that other mothers around the world can have a similar experience.
I want to share my story and knowledge to help others learn how to navigate these systems effectively and have a positive experience. Being an advocate for your child is crucial. It means not settling for mediocre care and always striving for the best. While perfection may be unattainable, advocating for your child's needs ensures they receive the highest quality of care possible. I believe that by sharing my experiences and insights, I can empower other mothers to become strong advocates for their children. Together, we can work towards creating a healthcare system that provides equitable and exceptional care for all.
